As part of the LPCC's long-term strategic business plan, the current administration has made restoration and improvement efforts a top priority. These projects include the clean-up and debris removal of the third and fourth floors, repainting, infrastructure updates, and much more.
One such effort has been the Adopt-A-Window Campaign. In June of 2011, Governor Matt Mead awarded the Laramie Plains Civic Center a Community Facilities Grant in the amount of $1 million from the State Loans and Investment Board and the Wyoming Business Council. This funding is the foundation for a large-scale renovation project to replace and refurbish the windows of the facility. It hasn't stopped there. Currently, windows are being replaced throughout the building not just from the generosity of the Governor's Grant, but through sponsorships from the general public as well.
With such a storied past and community ties, The Laramie Plains Civic Center has been honored to share its history with the community and create a foundation for an even brighter future. Many community members have attended school, played sports, or shared lifelong memories here. Now many individuals are choosing to give back to a venue that has given so much.
Because of this, The Laramie Plains Civic Center Foundation developed the Adopt-A-Window Campaign. The program allows community members to give back to one of Laramie's most historic landmarks. The Adopt-A-Window Campaign welcomes donors of varying levels, making this an opportunity for any member of the community to take part in. Donations are considered charitable in nature and will benefit The Laramie Plains Civic Center Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization (EIN # 90-0730751).
On December 19th, 2012, The Laramie Plains Civic Center began the installation process for the campaign.
The process requires three courses of action:
