Civic Center Launches “Stronger Together” Tenant Volunteer Program to Support Local Pantries

The Laramie Plains Civic Center has launched a new community initiative, Stronger Together: Neighbors in Action, encouraging Civic Center tenants to volunteer with partnering pantries during the months of November and December.

With food insecurity rising locally, this program invites the Civic Center’s nearly 100 tenant organizations to give back to the community through service. Tenants who volunteer their time can be eligible to receive rent credit for their leased space.

“We are aware of the immense community need for access to food and services this season and expected surges to our local nonprofits to supplement support,” Civic Center Executive Director Jessica Brauer, said. “These agencies need our help.”

Beyond rent credit, volunteers who continue serving will be recognized through a new “Good Neighbor” plaques added to their office doors based on logged volunteer time. These entities will be featured on the Civic Center’s website and newsletters, to celebrate their commitment to community action.

At this time, partner agencies include Laramie Interfaith and Family Promise of Albany County.

“I know firsthand that there is a community of compassionate individuals in our building who understand the importance of community support,” Brauer said. “My hope is that collectively we can offer our peers a helping hand.”
